PYA 2003 - Thursday, June 19th

Thursday was anything but the usual day for PYA! Thursday morning consisted of an early breakfast and then boarding two buses and heading out .... for WHITE WATER RAFTING! Below are some pictures and below the pictures is further details.

We arrived at OAR (the company that took us out rafting). Teams were made, six per raft. After a short bus ride from OAR to the launch site, each team recieved a few final instructions and then it was launch time!

After the white water rafting, we returned and had free time. Most students played and/or watched a volleyball game.

After dinner, the students attended a session where Anthoney Bradley spoke on "When you grow up, what are you going to do?" Before Anthoney spoke, there was a brief skit to show what the consulors do during their free time (and other times they are not seen anywhere!) [pictures below] The key points Anthoney made to answer that question were 1) What can I possibly do? What can I realisitically do? 2) What are your gifts and talents? and 3) Consider what the needs are in the world.

Several student arranged to have a completely student led time of worship at the lookout after the evening message. The students read scripture and sang songs such as "The Wonderful Cross", "We Fall Down", "Draw Me Close To You", "Breathe" and "Tender Mercy". This was an excelent activity and a strong showing of the leadership skills these students have!
