PYA 2003 - Friday, June 20th

Friday morning, unlike the evening, was pretty much like the rest of the week. Following breakfast the students were given a 30 minute personal devotion period to spend with the Lord. After that, we met for a time of praise & worship, a brief jousting skit, followed by two speakers.

Danny Mitchell, the first speaker, continued talking on mercy ministry. Danny had four points.... 1) Jesus pursued opportunities; 2) Jesus observed situations; 3) Jesus took action; 4) Jesus understood possible results. The morning session was wrapped up by Dean Conkel who spoke on leadership.

After lunch, students were split up among four locations: hiking; street evangelism; mercy ministry; and high ropes. I went along with the group going to the high ropes course. After a time of instruction and harnass fitting, it was time to hike up the mountain to the ropes course.

As each group arrived from their afternoon activity, the studens (and leaders) had "free time" which led up to the start of the formal banquet. We met at the lookout and took pictures, pictures and more pictures! Below are most of the official pictures and more!

After all the picture taking was done (or was forced to be done), we headed inside Carter Hall for our evening banquet. The families and staff were given priority to the food, followed by the ladies, escorted by one of the men. Once all the ladies had been served, the men were able to get their food.

After dinner, we had a time of praise and worship, followed by a message from Anthoney Bradley and communion.

Anthoney's message was to "be strong and couragous" because you are sent by God to accomplish something and He has equiped you to do it!

After a short break, and enough time to change clothes, we reassembled and each group present a short skit. Below are a few pictures and video links to some of these skits
